ABOUT THE POSITION:

This position reports directly to the Team Manager of Project Execution Management and is responsible for 1) the planning, scheduling and tracking of activities for assigned Global R&D development projects and/or product launch teams, 2) maintaining the official project schedule database for the assigned projects and ensuring timelines and progress are being accomplished in alignment with the project goals, 3) identifying project issues, resource constraints, risks, and conflicts that could impact the project timeline and execute risk mitigation plan, 4) supporting project goals in collaboration with related project management colleagues globally, and 5) maintaining appropriate project documentation and information which include project goals and objectives for developing a product that is consistent with the medical, regulatory and marketing expectations from a global perspective.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY DELIVERABLES:
  • Work with team members to create and maintain detailed cross-functional MS Project schedules needed to achieve the defined objectives of assigned projects.
  • Manage the integrity of the project schedule database for all assigned projects.
  • Communicate project progress and issues to direct manager and R&D Management, as appropriate.
  • Proactively identify resource constraints, risks, and conflicts that could impact the project schedule and work with team members and management to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Guide project team(s) in defining appropriate strategies and in identifying resolutions to technical and organizational issues in order to keep the projects on schedule.
  • Facilitate and prepare project evaluation assessments by coordinating financial, technical, and budget information with appropriate functions within the organization, as needed.
  • Ensure utilization of uniform processes and project documentation between projects including agendas, meeting minutes, monthly reports, project schedules, Budget Assumptions, Project Plans, and Product Target Profile Documents.
  • Build and manage effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Stay current with developments in the biopharmaceutical industry affecting Project Management. Be aware of industry best practices/standards to meet industry and company benchmarks in completing project milestones and tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College degree is required, scientific discipline preferred.
  • Five to eight (5-8) years' project management experience in pharmaceutical development or related field is required.
  • One to three (1-3) years' experience in leading and/or managing global cross functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software in a Windows environment; experience using a project management software program such as Microsoft Project is required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • PMP Certified a plus.
  • Judgment and tact in handling sensitive matters.
  • Ability to focus despite distractions and changing priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate and handle multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated communications skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent grammatical skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
