Amgen is seeking an Information Systems' Communication & Change Management Director at our corporate campus located in Thousand Oaks, California. The Director will report to the Executive Director, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

The OCIO IS Strategy Communication & Change Management Office is focused on developing and implementing a change management strategy and change management / communication tools to help drive IS transformation throughout the organization. They will have direct interface with and support of the IS executive leadership team (ISLT).

The Director will lead or provide liaison support for components of the IS change initiative(s), drive improvement opportunities, drive adoption of new critical IT capabilities, develop approaches to improve business engagement and implement comprehensive change strategies to transform the organization and enable it to meet new IS challenges.

In this position, the Director will also be responsible for leading and developing a team of highly motivated staff members to provide Information Technology strategy change management & communication support to the IS leadership team, including training, score cards, dashboards and advanced analytics. The Director is responsible for creating the change management that will enable the IS function to successfully transition, adopt and achieve the IS strategy.

The Director will also lead a team that is responsible for developing and implementing a global training strategy for the IS and Finance organizations. This team is responsible for developing holistic learning solutions and performance analysis that align with the IS and Finance strategies.

The OCIO is a key IS strategic function and trusted partner to the CIO in leading IS to become a business-integrated organization. The office provides leadership for cross-functional management of information and technology across the enterprise. We oversee and lead sub-functions such as IS strategy, governance, performance management, enterprise service management and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Amgen IS Transformation Capability, Tool Support, Coaching and Training by developing strong skills in application and facilitation of change management workshop methodologies and tools

• Drives innovative transformational thinking, ensuring fair process, escalating issues, and delivering high quality deliverables

• Facilitates ISLT working sessions regarding the development of IS Capabilities, and Engagement-related deliverables, and turns the outcomes into actionable items

• Work with the OCIO to define new IS transformational process and capabilities targets and provide an implementation plan, providing progress updates against targets

• Lead change management and communication strategies in support of the global IS organization

• Lead a multi discipline team that advocates CIO strategy execution plans and supports the ISLT with their business engagement frameworks

• Lead and manage the development of IS all staff communication plans and design in accordance with GBS/Finance/IT alignments

• Lead and develop a cross-functional team based primarily in Thousand Oaks, California and Tampa, Florida

• Lead and drive IS information dissemination and communication across our internal web portals

• Drive periodic executive communications

• Conduct recurring reviews of our key technology strategy initiatives (e.g. Automation/Data Sciences initiatives, etc.) and communicates status to leadership

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Master's degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
AND
4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

• Experience in leading diverse teams to execute and deliver quality programs within timelines

• 5-8 years working for a global pharmaceutical company in technology and/or project delivery role

• Understands the pharma/biotech business model, regulatory process & compliance guidelines

• Sensitivity to diverse groups of people with the ability to manage many different opinions and perspectives, including tolerance for ambiguity

• Demonstrated reputation as a well-respected, dynamic team player

• Ability to build meaningful connections with stakeholders

• Outstanding verbal and written communications skills and an ability to adapt one's approach to a challenge, as well as excellent interpersonal skills

• Capable of managing shifting priorities in a rapidly changing environment
