Roles and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Research Scientist, who will be responsible for running and optimizing our single-cell sequencing analysis for the evaluation of cancer resistance to Oncology and Immuno-Oncology therapies. Ideally the qualified candidate has strong technical and scientific skills with demonstrated hands-on experience in developing and utilizing scRNA-Seq ChipSeq, ATAC-Seq and RRBS in a translational setting. A high level of competence in handling and disseminating tumor tissues and blood is a prerequisite for this role. The candidate should also have a good working knowledge of downstream data pipelines, data analysis and data visualization capabilities to complement the technical aspects in the lab. The Research Scientist will partner closely with our bioinformatics, pathology and "omics" teams onsite and is expected to participate in internal and external scientific meetings, presenting their data and critically evaluating emerging scientific literature and technologies to contribute to the projects they are assigned to. We are seeking a self-motivated, proactive contributor for a dynamic, fast-paced multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications / Essential Skills
PhD in cancer genetics, epigenetics or genomics, or equivalent advanced biology degree
Experienced scientist with 2-4 years' of post-graduate research experience, with 1- 2 years post-doctoral studies in a clinical or translational setting
The candidate will have expertise in cancer epigenetic and experience in epigenetic profiling of tumors
Candidate will have in-depth knowledge / understanding of the cancer therapeutic landscape utilizing NGS platforms to tease out mechanistic insights with respect to response and resistance to a given therapeutic regimen
Participated in clinical studies to better characterize the molecular underpinnings of therapeutic resistance in patient cohorts and correlation with clinical outcome
A track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement demonstrated by first authorship in recent high impact publications
Exposure to cancer immunotherapy including immune-checkpoint blockade with knowledge of current therapeutic landscape is highly desirable
Recent experience in supervising bench scientists in an academic or industry setting is desirable
Experience in balanced experimental design, data visualization and working knowledge of NGS pipelines and statistical analysis tools are desirable
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate, both written and oral effectively and efficiently within the BMS organization and with external partners/collaborators
Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic work environment, bringing a pro-active mentality to the role
