In this role, the Project Manager will support the cross-functional drug development activities of pipeline products at Arcus. The Project Manager serves as a strategic partner to project team leaders in the execution of the strategic vision of the program. You will drive the development and execution of high quality, global, integrated cross-functional project plans for one or more products in support of the overall program strategy. In addition, you may be asked to lead and/or participate in special department, cross-functional, or team projects.
Essential Functions
• Identify key deliverables for each function and their inter-dependencies
• Drive planning for key drug development stage-gate decision points (e.g., First in Human, End of Phase 2, Filing, and Launch)
• Implement best practices and ensure cross-functional alignment and accountability
• Identify project issues or resource gaps and facilitate resolution
• Reinforce proper decision making according to the company’s decision making process
• Monitor and communicate progress and adherence to timelines
• Facilitate resource planning, financial and capacity assessments
• Conduct risk management, contingency and scenario planning using a variety of project management tools
• Adapt and thrive in a changing environment and building high-preforming cross-functional teams
• Drive the development and timely execution of annual goals and input to the Global Project Strategy
• Identify and efficiently resolve issues, driving decisions, and tracking action items
• Develop strong partnerships with external business partners and strategic alliances, where applicable
• Constructively challenge teams by providing disconfirming information and encourage innovative problem solving
• Serve as a single point of contact for cross-functional project team information (content and quality)
• Communicate cross-functional project information at project team meetings and to other stakeholders, as appropriate
• Ensure alignment of functional and regional issues within the project teams
• Demonstrate strong written/verbal communication skills and presence across functions and across different levels of leadership
Requirements
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Project Management experience OR Master’s degree and 4 years of Project Management experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Project Management experience. Advanced degree or strong demonstration of equivalent combination of relevant educational and professional training experience in leading cross-functional teams preferred. Minimum of 8 years industry experience in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or other Healthcare-related field and 4+ years of experience in a drug development Project Management role. The ideal candidate must have drug development knowledge with basic to strong understanding of other functions relevant to the position which may include: Research, Preclinical, Clinical, Manufacturing, Commercial and Regulatory; a proven record of implementing Project Management tools, methodologies, practices and infrastructure, as related to the Biopharmaceutical Industry. Candidates must also have the ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and be able to work as a team member with experience in a matrix environment.
