Summary
We are seeking candidates for a Scientist position in the Skeletal Diseases Therapeutic Focus Area. The successful candidate will focus on receptor-ligand interactions and signal transduction pathways that affect skeletal homeostasis, iron homeostasis, and rare diseases of the skeleton. Candidates should be versed in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology techniques. Although the focus of the work will be primarily in vitro, familiarity with animal models (animal handling, phenotyping) are desirable.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to champion research projects in the Skeletal Diseases Therapeutic Focus Area including generation, collecting, presenting and publishing data. They will be expected to work independently as well as part of a team to define research questions and then design a research program focused on answering them, and to communicate ideas and data within the team, as well as in meetings and forums within and outside of Regeneron. The ability to work within interdisciplinary teams in both the discovery and development areas is a necessary attribute for this position.

Requirements:

• Molecular biology techniques, such as those required for the expression of recombinant proteins and the generation of bioassays.

• Bioassay development: Cell culture, cell line production and data generation/analysis.

• Biochemistry: Expression, purification, analysis and testing the bioactivity of recombinant proteins. Structural biology: Use imaging and structural biology approaches to study ligand:receptor complexes

• Must communicate clearly to coworkers in the laboratory and management.

• The ability to generate and analyze data, as well as, interpreting that data to determine next steps.

• Flow cytometry, cloning, cell culture is a plus, and a desire to understand the molecular details governing signaling dynamics is a must.

• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.

• Should demonstrate creativity and intellectual independence with the ability to lead.

• 0 years of experience after a Ph.D. and trained in cell culture and molecular biology is required for this position.
