General Position Summary/Purpose:
As a member of the Infrastructure Engineering group, the Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining enterprise Linux and Windows Server systems and Oracle and SQL databases within a highly virtualized hybrid cloud environment. Ideal candidates will have a strong ability to script and code with an understanding of automation, orchestration, and infrastructure as code. The candidate should be a proactive leader with strong analytical and assessment skills who strives for excellence in everything that they do.
Key Accountabilities / Core Job Responsibilities:
- Provide senior level engineering leadership for system and database deployment in a hybrid cloud environment
- Be key subject matter expert for Linux and Windows systems and Oracle and SQL databases
- Maintain and ensure the reliability and performance of all enterprise systems
- Plan, develop, and deliver system and data driven projects on time and on budget
- Provide T3 support for business critical incidents escalated from our T2 operations team
- Install, test, configure, harden, and optimize computer hardware and software systems
- Build, optimize, and manage on premise infrastructure to support business needs
- Build and maintain Linux and Windows Server systems
- Build and maintain Oracle and SQL databases
- Manage Active Directory roles and features including group policy and Azure AD
- Build and maintain servers and interconnected systems within VMware, AWS, and Azure
- Lead effort for automation and orchestration for infrastructure systems and servers
- Implement and maintain tools to support infrastructure and application activities
- Support audit and compliance processes (internal and external)
- Troubleshoot issues to find root cause and participate in corrective action/preventive action measures to remediate issues
- Coordinate requirement gathering with internal business customers and interface throughout development process
- Work with cross functional IT teams on various projects
- Manage and maintain infrastructure software and tools
- Work closely with 3 rd party partners and vendors
- Remain current with the latest technologies and solutions
- Drive continual improvement

Required Expertise
- Deep understanding of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- Deep understanding of SQL and Oracle Databases
- Deep understanding of Hybrid Cloud environments and integrations with AWS and Azure
- Proven experience integrating and building systems and databases in an enterprise environment
- Experience in automation, orchestration, and building reliable, scalable infrastructure as code
- Solid Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and problem solving skills to solve issues within GxP production environment
- Deep knowledge of Active Directory, authorization, and authentication.
- Solid understanding of how systems integrate with other infrastructure components (Compute, Storage, HPC, etc.)
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes including incident management, change management and problem management
- Solid planning and execution skills and ability to deliver projects on time and on budget
- Ability develop technical documentation for projects including changes to systems
- Great communication skills, able to interface and communicate with the business on how system technology integrates and works
- Can work autonomously, is a team player and possess the ability to interact and interface with all levels of management.
- Expertise with:
- Microsoft Windows Server OS: Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016
- Linux OS: RHEL 6 & 7, CentOS, Debian etc.
- VCenter Server Management 6.x and ESXI 6.x
- Database Management - OrcaleDB, MySQL, SQLite, AWS Database etc.
- Cloud: Implementing systems in AWS & Azure (EC2, S3, Route53, Lambda VPC, Azure VM, EBS, Blob etc.)
- Active Directory and administration and maintenance and Azure AD (ADUC, ADCS, File Services, IIS, SSCM, DNS, DHCP, RDS, Group Policy etc).
- Scripting knowledge (any mix of): Powershell, VB, WMI, ASDI, Bash, Perl, Python etc.
- Configuration Management: SSH, Github, Jira, Ansible, other configuration management tools
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience supporting enterprise class systems and databases within a hybrid cloud environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience
- Certified professional in one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA)
- Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- AWS Certified Tracks
