Immunology Ambassador Regional Director-

The Immunology Ambassador Regional Director is responsible for identifying opportunities and developing tactical and strategic approaches to capitalize upon them, ensuring effective implementation of marketing strategies across the nation, and direct execution of appropriate patient support programs. The Regional Director is responsible for staying abreast of market dynamics and developing/modifying disease specific patient support strategies and tactics to ensure continued program success. The Regional Director should possess a comprehensive understanding of the business including market dynamics, key drivers and trends and the proven ability to utilize available information, data sets and metrics to effectively respond to opportunities and threats. Responsibilities include: tracking performance, managing resources, ensuring the organization is trained and prepared to maximize business potential, and that the nurse ambassador support is compliant and consistently delivered with high impact. This position will have management oversight of field-based and/or remote telephonic nurse Ambassadors and Ambassador Managers and will have accountability for the success of the program as well as compliance and monitoring oversight to comply with the quality system and program guidelines. In addition, the Regional director will be accountable for successfully collaborating with both their AbbVie and contractor Ambassador Program Lead peers.

The Nurse Ambassador Program is an integral offering in the AbbVie patient services organization. Ambassadors are registered nurses who have primary responsibility/accountability for providing appropriate product related training, drug access support, disease education, and general adherence support to patients prescribed an AbbVie product. Each nurse Ambassador may interact with enrolled patients by telephone, email, in patient home settings, and/or in a public setting that would be conducive to education and protection of privacy. These interactions will be conducted in one on one, group and caregiver included educational forums, with patients deciding how and whether to participate. Note: nurse Ambassadors are not permitted to provide medical advice.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • The Immunology Ambassador Regional Director is responsible for the direct management of the AbbVie Ambassador Managers with oversight of the contracted DMs and nurse Ambassadors across multiple disease states and products. This individual is responsible for ensuring the strategic focus, alignment, project management, and tactical execution for assigned geographic area.
  • Participate in setting overall strategy for nurse Ambassadors, translating strategies into execution plans, and ensuring local implementation.
  • Comprehensively understand market dynamics, patient insights, key drivers and trends; anticipate opportunities and trends and provide potential approaches in developing strategies and tactics to the senior leadership team.
  • Provide leadership to and motivate direct reports to ensure they contribute to the team in a strategic, meaningful way, as well as ensuring that they deliver to deadlines and objectives.
  • Build a highly positive culture that provides the work environment necessary to support the nurses in delivering the best possible patient treatment experience.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate and establish impact of partnerships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay current on policy developments and discuss with cross functional partners the likely impact on patients and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to ensure understanding of program and appropriate pull through with sales force is executed.
  • Manage assigned travel and budget within OPPF standards
  • Ensure adherence to all corporate and divisional compliance polices and guidelines within the assigned geographic area.
  • Conduct any additional duties as assigned by program management and approved through divisional review and approval processes.


Accountability and Scope:

  • Budgetary Responsibility of >$1MM
  • Manage up to 8 direct reports and 100 indirect reports

50% strategic / 50% tactical

Basic:

  • BA/BS degree, preferably in behavioral/social sciences, public health or business related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products (e.g. CFR 210/211, cGMP)
  • Minimum of 9 years professional experience in healthcare industry, with minimum of 3 years direct management experience of a field-based team is required, plus 2 years of experience as a training manager/product manager or other related management position
  • Ability to travel up to 50-60%, Position covers West and Central Districts, Best locations are North Texas ( Dallas), Oklahoma, Colorado (Denver)
  • Ability to build and inspire development for direct reports
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Ability to lead and drive for results in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to build relationships with third parties using good negotiation skills
  • Well-developed networking and influencing abilities to leverage relationships within and outside the company


Preferred:

  • Two years managing managers preferred
