AbbVie Immunology is expanding its early discovery at Cambridge, Massachusetts. This new research group will focus on identifying new targets for the treatment of autoimmune and chronic inflammation diseases through computational analysis of human disease tissue derived datasets, and validating targets using in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to partner with Functional Genomics and bioinformatics expertise and in vivo pharmacologists to develop novel platforms for target screen and validation. This position requires passion, attention to details, hands-on experience and teamwork spirits.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Identify and lead individual target in early discovery to treat autoimmune disorders
  • Build data package for potential target by investigating target biology using CRISPR-based technology and tool molecules
  • Develop new immunological functional assays in vitro and in vivo
  • Participate in functional genetic screens; functionally rank the therapeutic potential of targets for Immunology therapeutic area
  • Analyze data and present work in internal meetings

  • BS, MS, or PhD in immunology or other biological sciences with typically 10+(BS), 8+(MS), or 0+ (PhD) years of post-doctoral experience
  • Good understanding of CRISPR and RNAi based technologies; hands-on experience doing genome editing using CRISPR preferred
  • Extensive experience in developing in vitro functional assays; experience with immunoassays including FACS, ELISA, cell-based assays preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate with peers
