AbbVie is searching for a highly motivated individual to fill an Associate Scientist II position in the Protein Analytics group at AbbVie Bioresearch Center in Worcester MA. The Protein Analytics Department is responsible for the development, qualification and execution of analytical methods to provide product and process understanding for biological entities from discovery through commercial stages.
The candidate will be part of the New Modality Analytics Group within Protein Analytics that is mainly focused on method development and implementation of various HPLC, UPLC, and CE based analytical methods of AbbVie's Biologics.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and testing of analytical assays and will contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation within the group and the PA department.
Key Responsibilities:
Position will be hired based on level of experience.
The candidate will be part of the New Modality Analytics Group within Protein Analytics that is mainly focused on method development and implementation of various HPLC, UPLC, and CE based analytical methods of AbbVie's Biologics.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and testing of analytical assays and will contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation within the group and the PA department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, troubleshoot, qualify, and transfer analytical test method based on chromatographic and electrophoretic separations for early and late phase pipeline programs.
- Independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate experimental design capabilities and strong data interpretation skills.
- Organize and document experiments and results in an electronic lab notebook.
- Author technical memos and technical reports.
- Efficient IT skills (MS office, EXCEL, other instrument related software to support work)
Position will be hired based on level of experience.
- BS or MS degree in biological sciences with 0-4+ (BS), 0-2+ (MS) years of relevant experience in academic or biotech/pharmaceutical industry setting or equivalent
- Good understanding and hands-on experience with separation techniques such as SEC, IEC, HIC, RP-HPLC, CE-SDS, CZE, and icIEF.
- Perform routine tasks independently and interpret data to support process development of biologics molecules.
- Generate reliable and consistent results. Troubleshoot and investigate when needed.
- Goal oriented team player, with problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, organization, multitasking in a fast-paced collaborative cross-functional environment.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials
