Summary:

The Temp - Legal Billing Coordinator will work under the direction of the Supervisor, Patent Paralegal Group to support the entire Law Department in all phases of the billing and e-billing processes, including the administration of the e-billing database; working with Vendor Maintenance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounting, Finance, and IT.

The Temp - Legal Billing Coordinator will also be expected to work closely with an active group of attorneys/agents/paralegals/admins and interact with outside legal counsel and vendors. In addition, the Temp - Legal Billing Coordinator may be expected to contribute to administrative projects intended to develop a Law Department displaying the highest legal and ethical standards.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain the Law Department's e-billing systems, Serengeti (Legal Tracker) and MarkView.

• Work with Vendor Maintenance to set up new law firms/vendors.

• Work with Procurement for new purchase orders.

• Monitor and renew certain Law Department subscriptions/licenses/contracts not handled elsewhere.

• Liaison with the Contracts Group.

• Implement Law Department billing guidelines/best practices.

• Generate monthly/quarterly billing audits.

• Monitor law firm compliance with billing guidelines.

• Respond to requests from vendors, law firms, Accounts Payable, Accounting, Finance, and Procurement.

• Liaison with Information Technology Department.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of e-billing experience in a corporate legal department. Law firm e-billing experience may also be considered. Patent, biotech or pharmaceutical experience a plus.

Essential skills:

• Expertise using computer databases and web-based platforms. Experience with the Serengeti (Legal Tracker) e-billing system (or a similar e-billing system), and the iPro procurement system.

• Thorough knowledge of legal billing and invoicing, including e-invoicing.

• Demonstrated ability to generate various types of reports.

• Demonstrated organizational skills sufficient to manage the billing for an extensive and growing Law Department.

• Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, writing and conflict resolution.

• Ability to independently oversee legal billing and work collaboratively with other personnel at Regeneron.

• Ability to handle multiple complex billing matters and see projects through to conclusion.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; Qlik, SharePoint and iManage.
