Corporate Affairs Senior Manager - Lead Graphic Designer and Visual Story Teller

Amgen is seeking a Corporate Affairs Senior Manager - Lead Graphic Designer and Visual Story Teller to be based at our global headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA. The Senior Manager will report directly to the Executive Director of Corporate Affairs - Content Strategy & Social Media.

Consistent with the vision of Amgen Corporate Affairs to "proactively shape, drive and enhance the Amgen brand and reputation globally," the Senior Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consistent look and feel across Amgen materials and digital channels, and actively translating critical messaging into visually compelling content for publishing across digital channels.

Key responsibilities of the Corporate Affairs Senior Manager - Lead Graphic Designer and Visual Story Teller will include:

• Sets standards for Amgen's visual brand identity across multiple communications
• Actively creates visual content for use on social and digital channels
• Leads one team member to pull through Amgen brand identity on presentations
• Works to develop, edit and curate video for posting internally and externally
• Dedicatedly builds capability to translate essential messaging into infographic content
• Incorporates branding and look and feel into corporate collateral (presentations, fact sheets, etc)
• Works to assemble multi-media assets for use in a variety of venues within company and externally

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Graphic Design and/or Fine Arts and/or Multimedia Design experience

Or

Master's degree and 4 years of Graphic Design and/or Fine Arts and/or Multimedia Design experience

Or

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Graphic Design and/or Fine Arts and/or Multimedia Design experience

Or

Associate's degree and 10 years of Graphic Design and/or Fine Arts and/or Multimedia Design experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Graphic Design and/or Fine Arts and/or Multimedia Design experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8+ years of design and multimedia experience
• Experience creating infographic content, brand identity work, art direction, video production, animations
• Operates in a way that is science-based, using data to inform content development
• Models ethical behavior to teams and colleagues in the production and development of external content
• Accountable for delivering results rapidly while ensuring quality
• Experience coaching and developing visual communicators
• Ability to lead and influence the broader global organization
• Capable of working with multiple stakeholders to passionately simplify and optimize complex systems and structures
• Handles pressure and demands from multiple internal clients with contending priorities
• Ability to act quickly with same day content creation and publishing
