We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Supply Chain organization to support our new commercial cell therapy biotechnology facility in Frederick, MD as well as our Gaithersburg, MD facility which focuses on the development of novel T cell therapies targeting tumor mutations (neoantigens).

The Associate Director, Site Production Planning is responsible for recruiting and leading a team that provides detailed site scheduling production plans for Kite's Maryland facilities.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Recruit, develop and lead a team to provide and maintain detailed site scheduling production plans for all clinical and commercial cell therapy products at Kite's Maryland facilities to ensure no gaps or delays in processing, release, and shipments.
  • Develop and implement logistics and planning tools to ensure uninterrupted operations with on time, right first time supply to patients.
  • Ensure short and long term site capabilities and production capacity commitments are aligned through the Integrated Business Planning process.
  • Establish, measure and track planning and logistics performance through critical metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing network, IT, Finance and other teams to implement software solutions and business system enhancements to deliver best in class logistics and planning.
  • Collaborate with Materials Planning to ensure raw materials and supplies support the manufacturing plan.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant logistics and planning experience preferably at a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical company. Master's degree preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of production scheduling and material requirements planning. APICS certification preferred.
  • Proven successful cross functional team leadership and management experience in clinical or commercial manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical Supply Chain.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in working closely with executive level internal site leadership and external service providers.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Thrives in a startup, fast-paced environment with 'can do' attitude under minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS, SAP or similar strongly preferred
  • Excellent MS Office and MS Project skills.
  • Self-motivated and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description


This role will be based out of Kite's Frederick manufacturing facility but will also require regular on site presence at the Gaithersburg site. The position will also require initial training at Kite's office and Manufacturing facilities in California.
