Responsibilities

The Facilities Engineer will assist in performing operational management and duties to protect and improve the value of building system assets, and maintain regulatory compliance. The incumbent will gain thorough knowledge of all building systems, and building management system, and hey they integrate, helping to ensure that these systems perform their intended function. The incumbent will report to the Director of Facilities and work together with the Chief Building Engineer and Building Engineer to implement and perform Preventative Maintenance tasks on all equipment, and provide emergency response as needed. The person in this position will be called on to manage projects as needed, including lab startups and relocations, space renovations, and the migration to new BMS software, and will assist Facilities Coordinator in coordinating PM and other outside vendor contracts.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required. College degree desired. Completion of technical and/or trade courses acceptable/
  • 5+ more years of Engineering experience working with HVAC systems required. Previous experience working with plumbing and/or electrical preferred. Experience with light carpentry, painting desired. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferred; previous experience with Building Automation Systems, in particular Siemens, would be a plus. Experience managing vendors and/or projects required.
