Primary Job Function
AbbVie Oncology Discovery is seeking a highly motivated and skilled cell/molecular biologist with a proven track record of scientific accomplishment and extensive expertise in the field of DNA repair/DNA damage responses. The candidate is expected to independently conceive and execute experimental strategies to lead/support drug discovery programs, and to develop translational plans. Applicants should have extensive laboratory research experience and a desire to continue in a laboratory-focused role with a high level of experimental vigor and quality. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential as the candidate is expected to operate in a fast-pace multi-discipline environment, interacting with diverse groups of experts within or outside of his/her scientific discipline. The ideal candidate must be able to prioritize and manage multiple research activities and possess a broad range of technical expertise and knowledge in cancer biology.

Basic:
- BS, MS, or PhD or equivalent in cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics/genomics, pharmacology, oncology or related field with
- 10+ years (BS), 8+ years (MS), 0+ years PhD
- Impactful research experience demonstrated by high-quality publications, patents and/or presentations at national/international conferences is essential
- Extensive expertise on DNA repair/DNA damage responses is required
- Broad technical proficiency in standard biochemical, cellular and molecular biology techniques is a must
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Previous experience in drug discovery, either in academic or industrial setting, is preferred but not required
Preferred:
- PhD with 2+ years post doctoral work experience
