Your Responsibilities

Responsible for purchase order processing and management for Raw Materials, Technical components, Services, Equipment (CAPEX) and outside processors in response to Purchase Requisitions, MRP requirements and company needs. Select and negotiate with approved suppliers to maintain competitive pricing, and assist with analyzing the market place and material supply to improve quality, and reduce cost. Coordinate and train personnel engaged in purchasing raw material, packaging components, and MRO supplies to gain efficiencies.

Your Tasks

  • Process purchase orders based on SAP MRP reports for raw materials and technical components, or purchase requisitions for non-inventory acquisitions. Work with the suppliers and logistics to ensure on-time delivery to meet all scheduling requirements.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date information on purchase orders including price, terms, quantity and delivery date. Process SAP-MRP exception messages as required.
  • Communicates in a timely fashion, all information regarding raw material sourcing, pricing, delivery date changes, results, etc. to appropriate individuals in Material Management, Planning, R&D, and others as necessary.
  • Resolve non-conformance items through internal and external processes. Ensure rejected material is returned to supplier within established guidelines and that credits / replacement are received in a timely manner when appropriate.
  • Working closely with Material Management  and Accounts-Payable teams to make sure all Good Receipts and Invoices are posted against Purchase Orders
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all suppliers and internal relationships.
  • Keeps monitoring of current market trends, practices, developments, and regulatory changes, which would affect products, procedures, and/or supply. Inform leadership of all options that are available to assist with maintaining or improving established costs/supply.
  • Anticipate potential risks regarding material availability, identify actual challenges, and take proactive steps to achieve resolution while informing appropriate personnel
  • Develop / present ideas to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, add value and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain constant focus on quality and drive continuous improvement within the procurement process and supply base.
  • Assist in new item set up and supplier set up processes.
  • Maintaining all item purchase data to ensure accurate and up to date lead times, MOQ’s, Order Intervals, etc.

Your Profile

  • BS degree in chemical or business management with minimum 3 years’ experience in purchasing raw material specially chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, or
  • Candidates with a college degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
  • Knowledge of Materials Management and MRP systems
  • Ability to analyze trends and data to make appropriate decisions and recommendations
  • Effective interpersonal, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Must be highly organized and disciplined about completing tasks within deadlines
  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and analytical problems
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and manage one’s time
  • Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment
  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of cGMP and FDA regulations
  • Experience with Peptides
  • APICS, CPSM, or related certification are plus
  • SAP system experience
