Research Associate, CAR-T cell therapy

We are seeking a Research Associate to join our growing team in Emeryville. In this role, you will contribute to the company's efforts to develop next-generation cell therapies in solid tumor malignancies. Specifically, you will be part of a cell biology research team focused on novel engineering approaches to enhance CAR T anti-tumor activity. You will be responsible for the production, expansion and characterization of engineered human T cells for preclinical evaluation. The successful candidate will have strong mammalian cell culture experience and organization skills. The team member will be expected to work in a collaborative cross-functional team environment, perform experiments, organize and analyze results, communicate effectively and present findings in team meetings.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Viral transduction engineered human T cells
• Expansion of T cells for preclinical evaluation
• Characterization of T cells by flow cytometry and PCR-based assays
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immunotherapy field
• Coordinate tasks across projects, demonstrating prioritization and planning
• Effectively communicate plans and results in both oral and written form
• Ability to work in a highly dynamic collaborative team environment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

• BS or MS degree in Immunology/Cell Biology

• 0-2 years Industry/academic experience in the Immunology field
• Excellent mammalian cell/tissue culture and sterile technique required
• Experience with multi-color flow cytometry and data analysis (FACSDiva, FlowJo) required
• Knowledge of PCR-based assays
• Self-motivated and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description
• Comfortable in a fast-paced company, willing to learn and take on new responsibilities, ability to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
• Outstanding organizational skills and record keeping
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Prism, and other programs to create and distribute reports and key information required
