We are seeking a highly motivated individuals to join our shared-antigen TCR-T program as a Senior Research Scientist at our new research and clinical production facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The facility is being developed as a Center of Excellence for the advancement of novel TCR mediated T cell therapies targeting tumor mutations and antigens.

Reporting to a Director, the individual will lead projects and perform experiments to discover good quality TCRs against wide-ranging shared tumor antigens, evaluate efficacy and safety with the goal to implement them into our therapeutic platforms. In addition, he/she will investigate several engineering features to potentiate the T-cell activity in variety of in vitro/in vivo experiments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop, lead and manage projects involving isolation of TCR specific against novel tumor antigens
  • Isolation of primary human immune cells (T cells, B cells, Dendritic cells and other) from human blood and tumor material
  • Aseptic culture techniques of tumor, T cells, and cell lines
  • Isolation of candidate TCRs using single-cell techniques
  • Evaluation and detection of T cell populations for their characteristics using flow cytometry-based assays;
  • Viral vector-based or electroporation-based modification of tumor cell lines and primary immune cells
  • Taking charge of routine tasks relating to laboratory operations (e.g. organization and maintenance of lab supplies)


Qualifications:

Candidates with the following educational and technical skill set are encouraged to apply.
  • A Ph.D. in Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering or Biotechnology (or related field) with 4-10 years of experience is required. Your experience may be in academia, non-profit or industry. Industry experience is not required.
  • Immunological techniques such as, isolation of T cells, mixed lymphocyte culture, cytotoxic killing assay, functional assays using FACS, ELISA and other methods, in vivo mouse model experiments etc. is essential.
  • Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge in Molecular Biology is a clear plus
  • Expertise in high-throughput technologies, such as genetic screenings using RNAi, Cas9 or engineered nucleases; single cell technologies is an advantage but not a strict requirement
  • Strong verbal, written communication and analytical skills in English and ability to communicate results to a diverse cross-functional audience
  • Proactive, self-motivated standout colleague with strong interpersonal skills, appropriate sense of urgency and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment with challenging work-load and to quickly get acquainted with novel methods and approaches
  • Detailed and continuous literature survey to stay up-to-date with the latest development in the field
