The Manager, Supply Chain Materials Planning is responsible for executing and managing the monthly demand and supply planning cycle using Kinaxis RapidResponse as well as Oracle and planning viral vectors. Also the planner will plan and manage the final drug product.

Responsibilities (Include but not limited to):
  • Ensure sufficient supplies of viral vectors to support clinical trials and commercial launch for Kite and joint venture(JV) partners
  • Consolidate all viral vector dependent and independent demand and create a production plan for CMO
  • Produce and track purchase orders for viral vectors
  • Execute and manage production orders for viral vectors
  • Contribute to cross-functional CMO oversight teams and JV meetings as Supply Chain representative
  • Develop storage plan for viral vectors and cell banks with 3PL materials management team
  • Plan and manage future supplies and safety stocks for cell banks and viral vectors
  • Lead the viral vector forecasting meeting with a cross functional team members for clinical and commercial production runs
  • Plan final drug product and develop a strategy to manage the optimal level of product.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to set strategy related to managing the final drug product
  • Define and mature Phase-appropriate vector, cell bank, and final product planning processes with cross-functional teams
  • Perform scenario analysis for the assigned materials/products using RapidResponse
  • Provide timely updates to stakeholders on status of readiness activities and related projects
  • Analyze, trend, and resolve complex situations/problems using multiple sources of information
  • Identify and analyzes problems and opportunities to streamline departmental activities and lead cross functional projects to drive improvements
  • Create new procedures and processes to drive desired results
  • Partner with all relevant stakeholders to share and implement best OE practices
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:
  • Master's Degree and 3 years of operations or supply chain experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of operations or supply chain experience OR Associate's degree and 10 years of operations or supply chain experience
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Experience with Change Control Management, Deviations and CAPA Systems
  • Understands advanced supply chain concepts
  • Experience with industry regulations, GMP, compliance and pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology processes
  • Possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to communicate concisely and in a timely manner to clients' requests
  • Works under minimal direction
  • Must have raw material, planning, ERP and supply chain experience in pharmaceutical setting (Oncology, hematology, immunotherapy preferred)
  • Ideal to have start-up experience as the fast paced environment experience will match Kite's environment
  • Self directed, adept in dynamic environment, tolerance for ambiguity, able to apply judgment with limited information or guidance
  • Ability to integrate information and process information critically
  • Enthusiastic team player


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of planning experience using Kinaxis Rapid Response
  • Material, Production, Planning Master data and Quality Management and Inspection plan experience in Oracle E Business Suite
  • APICS certification and/or relevant course work
  • OE certification
