Description

We are seeking an exceptional Scientist / Senior Scientist to join our efforts in understanding the interaction between the microbiota and the human mucosa.  The successful candidate will be a member of the Infectious Department and will lead a scientific team to discover targets and develop novel therapies.   The new hire will be part of a dynamic and highly motivated team driving discovery in diverse therapeutic areas, including infectious diseases, oncology, immunology and neuroscience.  This new hire will be excited by research at the interface between technology and biology, be able to define important therapeutic problems, and ultimately drive innovation to solve them.  This hire will conceive, plan and design discovery strategies, and work collaboratively with other cross-functional research groups to develop first-in-class and best-in-class therapies. Our new hire will continue to lead the field in shaping our future understanding of the interactions between microbiota and the host at the molecular level, and will be expected to present their research externally and publish in peer-reviewed journals. 

Who You Are

We are seeking self-driven and highly motivated candidates with a passion for discovery and innovation.  Requirements for this position include a PhD or MD and postdoctoral training.  We encourage applications from candidates with extensive prior experience as well as those coming directly from exemplary postdoctoral trainings.  Ideal applicants will have deep knowledge and hands on expertise in microbial biology and mucosal immunity, with focus on the gastrointestinal tract.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated a sustained record of productivity and substantive scientific contributions as evidenced by consistent high-impact publications, patent inventorship, and/or external presentations.  The candidates should have excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines, be team-oriented, collegial, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
