Summary:

This role is designed for an individual with 2 to 3 years of experience in the Accounting field. This person will be responsible for the preparation of various expense account analysis needed to prepare for the month end process as well as assist with various monthly Collaboration Accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include, but are not limited to the following:

• Preparation and maintenance of various expense accounts and related journal entries.

• Comprehends usage of project code listing and its impact on tracking costs and generating billable revenue to the Company's collaborators.

• Preparation of invoices for reimbursable activities.

• Reconciliation and maintenance of Accounts Receivable and/or Other Deferred Revenue accounts.

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with documented financial reporting and other related controls and updating related documents as necessary to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

• Assist with internal and external auditor requests.

• Assist with special projects as needed.

Requirements:

Skills:
Team player who interacts effectively with others. Possesses intermediate knowledge of accounting principles. Ability to understand and apply those principles to work performed. Ability to evaluate and analyze accounting data. Ability to think independently and proactively proposes solutions and understands when supervisory support is required to address issues or problems encountered. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.

Computer Proficiency:
High proficiency with Microsoft applications is required, specifically Microsoft Excel is required (financial functions, pivot tables, etc.). Experience with Oracle GL is a plus.

Minimal Educations Requirements:
Bachelors Degree required

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 - 3 years
