Job Details

Amgen's Therapeutic Discovery organization is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative Senior Research Associate to join the Protein Technologies group at our Amgen San Francisco site. Protein Technologies is responsible for designing, planning and executing on the generation of key enabling reagents to support early discovery of small and large molecule therapeutics and cutting-edge novel modalities. The Senior Research Associate will be a part of a multidisciplinary team with capabilities in molecular engineering, cloning, expression and purification of proteins, including antibodies, bispecifics and membrane proteins.

Basic Qualifications:

Master's Degree in scientific discipline

OR

Bachelor's Degree in scientific discipline and 2 years of scientific laboratory experience

Preferred qualifications:

Mammalian tissue culture experience

Experience in recombinant protein expression and production, especially with common mammalian transient and stable platforms as well as production/fermentation in WAVE reactors or other disposable reactor technologies

Assay cell line development

Protein biochemistry skills including purification

Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Desire to be a team player in a dynamic, cross-functional environment

Demonstrated scientific analysis and problem-solving skills

Laboratory training, deep scientific curiosity and a positive approach to working in a team-based research environment

Track record of creative problem-solving and enthusiasm for tackling difficult research challenges
