The successful candidate will be responsible for a knockout mouse phenotyping target discovery and validation pipeline. The pipeline uses genetically modified mice to evaluate therapeutic potential of both novel and validated disease targets and identify promising leads for follow up. The person in this role will be responsible for integrating data and managing processes across many different departments and communicating results to all levels of the company. Expert scientific knowledge of one or more organ systems and/or areas of disease biology and a background working with genetically modified mouse models are essential. A solid general knowledge of developmental biology, functional anatomy, immunology, and human genetics are highly desirable.


• This position will be responsible for leading studies, effectively interpreting and communicating data, and collaboratively reaching conclusions about the therapeutic potential of targeting proteins with antibodies or other drugs. The candidate will manage a team responsible for many of the different assays in this screen as well as integrating data generated by other departments. Data must be packaged and effectively communicated to all levels of the company and select targets transitioned into the company pipeline.

• Regular meetings are required with the many groups involved, including with scientists from our biology/disease groups to select new projects, coordinate of mouse production, collaborate with groups involved in assay processing and control of database structure to store and disseminate data.

• The person in this role must be detail oriented and organized as this position is responsible for tracking and supervising the entire process from target submission through mouse production, assays, database entry and data analysis, to presentation and post-meeting follow-up and must keep projects on track and on time.

• This position also requires the discovery and integration of new technologies and assays, both to streamline and add to the pipeline while maintaining high levels of data integrity and reproducibility.

  • A minimum of a PhD or MD with 3-5 years post doc or early faculty position
    Background in mammalian systems biology, disease modeling and/or human genetics.
  • Prior experience in fields such as immunology, functional anatomy, tumor models, and/or developmental biology is not required but is preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger project
  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels, including supervisors and colleagues in other departments
  • Attention to detail and the ability to track, facilitate and collate multiple experiments
  • Experience with data entry, databases and excel
