Job Details
Amgen is seeking a Project Manager/Program Lead to join Digital Workplace Experience services team who would support the Service/Product Owner. This individual will play the role of scrum master who would help the Service/Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope. Eliminates impediments - many blocking issues will be beyond the team's authority or may require support from other teams. The Project Manager actively addresses these issues so that the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the Iteration.
The PM will report to the Senior Manager, Information Systems but be independent with the ability to listen to stakeholders, follow up and be proactive in all aspects. This role will be part of the Amgen's IS, Digital Workplace Experience team who will work closely with multiple internal project team members, partnering with key stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
Responsibilities include:
Awareness with widely successful Agile techniques: Creating Epics, User Stories, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Agile Games
Create and maintain Scrum boards as appropriate for internal teams, including updating User Stories and Epics with Agile Team's input
Conduct effective and efficient status meetings for the core team and various levels of project leadership
Coordinate resources (scrum team) by facilitating their assignment to stories/tasks
Set and continually manage project expectations with key stakeholders and project team
Work with multiple work streams and multiple internal teams to ensure the committed deliverables are met
Work with scrum team to encourage completion of activities
Develop, maintain and monitor user story and backlog priority with the assistance of product owner
Develop and review project status and reports, including burn down charts and velocity diagrams
Facilitate Backlog grooming / generation
Facilitate Scrum and Sprint planning meetings
Facilitate Sprint Backlog refinement
Attend Scrum meetings, as necessary
Integrate with Product Owners for prioritization and escalations
Integrate with Scrum team to clarify status including advancements and/or impediments
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 2 years of Project Management experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Project Management experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of Project Management experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Project Management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive Project Management skills
4+ years of formal project management support, including end user support experience for a technology company
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and writing skills with ability to understand customer needs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Enthusiastic about technology with demonstrated technical aptitude
Passionate about customer service and how it can transform businesses
Excellent project management skills and ability to multitask with ease
Organized with attention to detail
Ability to work according to tight deadlines and under pressure
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision, as well as work as part of a team
Excellent knowledge and experience in Agile Board Tools to manage user stories
