  • Developing & maintaining a framework that ensures appropriate governance of all GRAAS processes
  • Providing a methodology to a network of cross functional experts to deliver on continuous improvement optimization of GRAAS-owned processes and implement appropriate metrics to monitor health and network performance


Amgen is now seeking a Business Performance & Innovation Senior Manager, based on our main corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA. This role will support the GRAAS Global Networks Leader and provides project management support with an emphasis on proactive communication and problem solving, development of solutions that align with long term strategies and the translation of the strategy into challenging, actionable objectives. This role will effectively drive project teams and advocates Global Networks positions throughout the project life cycle and will support GRAAS Leaders to define and implement process network goals and initiatives and represent the network needs at key R&D, Operations and Commercial interfaces.

Key activities
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver results and attain network goals/targets
  • Deliver project goals on budget and on schedule
  • Develop, evaluate, and manage business case and cost/benefit analysis
  • Develop and use project plans to coordinate and report progress
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders and sponsors regarding project progress, issues, and plans for resolution
  • Prioritize workload in accordance with business goals
  • Mentor team members in global networks and process improvement best practices methodologies
  • Proactively identify and resolve upcoming issues within the network, and at interfaces with other networks
  • Facilitate preparation of presentations including All-Staff presentations, reports on network performance
  • Work with GNL to organize network meetings to achieve objectives of the network

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 2 years of project management experience in the biotech/pharma industry
OR
Master's degree and 4 years of project management experience in the biotech/pharma industry
OR
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of project management experience in the biotech/pharma industry
OR
Associates degree and 10 years of project management experience in the biotech/pharma industry
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of project management experience in the biotech/pharma industry

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA., PhD, PharmD, Master's Degree
  • Certified or experienced in process improvement methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma
