Amgen is looking for self-motivated individuals, with strong analytical skills, decision-making, and leadership attributes, willing to join a Biotechnology World Class Company under our University Relations Program.

The Undergrad-COOP will apply the skills learned at the university in the pharmaceutical industry and learn new ones from hands on experience of work assignment. Key skills include but are not limited to: communication, planning, organization, problem solving, team-working, data monitoring etc.

This role will work and/or support real projects under supervision and guidance of highly skilled professionals that will help student to gain practical experience in the pharmaceutical field. We have several positions based in Juncos for Quality, Engineering, Process Development, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing departments. Amgen Manufacturing Limited is chosen one of the top 3 Best Employers in Puerto Rico. Candidates will be interviewed onsite, and those selected will start in July/August of 2019.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Evaluation of the historical and current data
  • Define/develop standard works (protocols/procedures) for specific tasks
  • Prepare project justification
  • Meeting coordination with interdepartmental groups for agreement on path forward
  • Identify efficiency opportunities
  • Coordinate procedures revision and approval
  • Provide training on new/revise procedure steps
  • Communicate with people in diverse language ability, educational levels and experiences


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/LICENSES

At least 3.20 GPA (General)

Be in the process of earning a bachelor's degree in Industrial, Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or Life Science (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry)
Have completed at least 3 year of college education
Be enrolled in university

All individuals applying for an internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen need to meet the following criteria:

Have not graduated yet

Be pursuing an applicable degree or course of study

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BSIE student who has completed the following courses: Work Measurement and Work Stations Design

Be enroll in school under a Coop program

Strong technical writing skills

Good interpersonal skills

Able to work with minimum supervision

Well Organized

Meet milestones and deliver high quality results

Enthusiastic about learning new concepts and work processes

Proficient in the following software: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point
