Job Summary

The Corporate Facilities and Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing technical leadership for Amgen's Pest Control and Facilities Cleaning Global Networks for across Amgen sites. The role is part of the Facilities Center of Excellence (COE) team within the Global Facilities Operations (GFO) Group. The COE is a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) that provides technical operations and maintenance expertise, technical reports, data analysis, metrics and project support. This position will focus on Global Pest Control, Facilities Cleaning, and all types of Maintenance, Operations and Facility Services across multiple Amgen sites. On a daily basis this individual will work with different staff at a variety of management levels within the organization.

Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating and facilitating network meetings
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the network
  • Managing and reporting the global network metrics at different levels in the organization
  • Sharing Best Practices, and support for problem solving
  • Own and manage multiple Standards and support Documents


The position can also be located at other Amgen Sites in North America

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate Degree OR

Master's Degree and 2 years of Engineering/Facilities Pest Management, Clean/Sanitation experience

OR Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of Engineering/Facilities Pest Management, Clean/Sanitation experience

OR Associate's degree and 10 years of Engineering/Facilities Pest Management, Clean/ Sanitation experience OR

High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Engineering/Facilities Pest Management, Clean/ Sanitation experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry experience in Pest Control including; Pest prevention - Control Strategies, establishing perimeter boundaries, the selection of the use of pesticides, local codes that governor them and application of best practices
  • Industry experience with Facilities Clean/Sanitization including; Contamination Prevention - Control Strategies, establishing perimeter boundaries ,the selection of the use of cleaning/sanitization chemical, and application of best practices
  • 5 year's of facilities management knowledge - A good understanding of Facility Operations and Maintenance
  • Ability to lead a Global working team
  • Experience with benchmarking
  • Ability to translate and communicate detailed data analysis to all levels of the organization and staff with varying levels of knowledge and experience
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System, experience with Maximo would be a plus
  • Communication Skills - Ability to effectively communicate with a varied client base including maintenance groups, service providers, project team members and management
  • Process Improvement Skills - Working knowledge of continuous improvement and operational excellence methods and best practices
  • Leadership, project management and team building skills - Ability to lead projects and initiatives
  • Team Player - Ability to work collaboratively on various project teams
  • Strong time management, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex tasks
  • Ability to effectively influence cross-functionally and across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
