Position Overview

Oversees the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

Studies equipment and utility system performance and reliability. Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for utility problems that affect the manufacturing process. Provides technical support to the maintenance and process engineering organizations. Evaluates equipment preventative maintenance schedules.

Uses professional concepts and applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Provides engineering support for facility, process utilities and related equipment. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for operation and maintenance of cGMP systems and equipment. Initiates and manages Change Controls. Interfaces with QA, Maintenance and Manufacturing. Supports investigations and root cause analysis for Event Report. Follows-up and closes out audit reports. Supports the review and update of P&ID drawings. Supports departmental audits of maintenance records. Assists with the initiation and close out of Engineering Work Orders as necessary to support operation, modification, installation of new equipment as well as troubleshooting of existing equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

A minimum of a Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline is required. Equivalent experience may be accepted. A minimum of 2 years industry work experience is required. Previous experience in a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment or other regulated environments is preferred. Good oral and written communication skills are a must. Good computer skills are required. CAD experience is required. Validation experience is a plus. Must have an ability to provide technical engineering support in a collaborative, team-oriented project environment.
