Amgen has a diverse and rapidly advancing oncology portfolio. Targeted therapies and precision assets are an important and exciting part of that portfolio. To that end, a Global Marketing Director role has been created to develop the strategic plans that will drive the commercial launch of Amgen's KRAS G12C small molecule inhibitor in colorectal cancer (CRC), including the development of global launch strategies, message development, disease state education (DSE) and other key marketing activities

Reporting to the Global marketing leader for the asset which includes other tumor targets, the successful candidate will work closely with the entire brand team while representing the global insights of the CRC marketplace, including patients, healthcare professionals (HCPs), Opinion Leaders (OLs) and value & access.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead and prepare the commercial organization for the launch of a targeted therapy in CRC
  • Develop a robust assessment of the future therapeutic landscape including deep insights into the customer, marketplace, competitors, and business drivers
  • Understanding of the CRC patient journey and how the marketplace and customer needs may evolve over time
  • Build rapport with key CRC OLs in partnership with medical
  • Work closely with the Insights, RWE and Brand Platform team to create a recommended set of data generation options to complement labeling, line extensions and Life Cycle Management (LCM)
  • Map out strategic options and recommendations to maximize key lifecycle events including key clinical trial data and companion diagnostics
  • Engage with Global Value Access & Policy to ensure access
  • Partner with the Companion Diagnostic team to ensure optimal commercialization, access and patient identification
  • Partner with the non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) director and the regional commercial leads to ensure the development of a global brand
  • Cultivate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, professional organizations
  • Key contributor to Product Team, leadership of relevant CRC insights, leading all global marketing activities, message and brand development
  • Lead and coach senior marketing manager to deliver all marketing deliverables with quality and on time and in budget
  • Leads the development of the global brand plan in partnership with the NSCLC lead and the regions
  • Strong collaboration with regional marketing leaders
  • Serve as the interface with cross-functional teams (Amgen Digital Health, Customer Experience, Market Research, Development, Regulatory, Competitive Intelligence, Operations) in assessing long-term strategic options.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience
    OR
    Master's degree and 6 years of marketing experience
    OR
    Bachelor's degree and 8 years of marketing experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience with strong management skills


  • Successful product launch experience in country operations and/or global role


  • Relevant oncology or related functional area experience (sales, marketing and/or payer experience)


  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across the matrix


  • Strong leadership skills, including ability to influence teams with diverse backgrounds


  • Excellent written, analytical and verbal communication skills


  • Demonstrated ability to analyze a business problem and develop an appropriate strategy


  • Strong business judgment and emotional intelligence


  • Act as a role model for others in line with Amgen values
