Job Details

The Translational Oncology Biomarker team is seeking a Pathologist to drive the strategy for Translational biomarker development, lead programs, conduct histopathological evaluation of IHC studies and provide technical oversight of histotechnicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide the method development of antibodies for determining target expression and biomarker analysis in both FFPE/OCT whole tissues and tissue microarrays, summarize IHC results, prepare presentations and interact with cross-functional teams to support IHC needs for different programs
  • Drive the strategy for translational biomarker development, lead programs, coordinate and establish both internal and external collaborations
  • Develop new methodologies to support multiple small molecule and biologics programs
  • Utilize knowledge in the areas of cancer biology, adaption of IHC and development of translational IHC biomarker assays for use in the clinic
  • Serve as an integral member of drug discovery and development teams who interface with both internal and external biology, biomarker, genomics, in vivo and toxicology groups to deliver novel therapeutic clinical candidates


Basic:
  • MD and/or DVM or PhD in a relevant field with 8+ years of pathology experience in an R&D setting focusing on Oncology in the pharma industry and/or academia
  • Board certification
  • Must have 3+ years experience in IHC, antibody selection and optimization of IHC protocols (FFPE and OCT)
  • Digital pathology experience with relevant cancer biology, biomarker research background and clinical pathology experience is highly preferred
  • Oncology experience in the areas of apoptosis, DNA repair, epigenetics, ADC, biologics therapies, immuno-oncology desired.
  • Proven leadership, teamwork and effective written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to direct or lead technical studies.
  • Strong communication skills with preparing and presenting data to scientists with diverse scientific backgrounds required. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work in a team-oriented environment.
