Summary:

Seattle Genetics is seeking a highly motivated and innovative scientist to join our expanding immunology team. In particular, we are seeking an individual who has a high level of competency evaluating adaptive immune responses in human and murine model systems in vitro and in vivo. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of scientific excellence in the field of immunology with the ability to independently distill mechanisms of action from complex systems.

Responsibilities:
  • The candidate will be responsible for conceiving, evaluating, and developing next generation therapeutics aimed at modulating aspects of the adaptive immune system for the treatment of cancer
  • Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing in vivo and in vitro assays to monitor antigen-specific, infection/vaccination, and anti-tumor immune responses under varying therapeutic contexts
  • The candidate will be required to routinely communicate research findings internally and externally and participate in collaborations across research departments
  • The candidate will be expected to keep up to date on literature related to their area of expertise, acting as a subject matter expert for the research team

Requirements:
  • A Ph.D. degree and 3+ years post-doctoral experience in cellular and/or tumor immunology, with a primary focus on lymphocyte biology, with a proven track record evidenced by peer reviewed publications and/or patents
  • The successful candidate will have a breadth of experience in cellular, molecular, and transcriptomic approaches with particular expertise with in vivo and in vitro assays to monitor antigen-specific, infection/vaccination, or anti-tumor immune responses
  • Extensive experience with primary immune cells of rodent and/or human origin as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the basics of adaptive immune responses
  • The candidate will be a creative, vocal, and enthusiastic scientist able to think and work independently, with a strong collaborative spirit
  • Proficiency in multi-color flow cytometry and animal models is essential
