Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

The Cell Culture and Medium Development Group within Preclinical Manufacturing and Process Development is looking for a motivated person to assist in medium development for mammalian cell culture processes. He/she will perform studies at a benchtop scale to develop cell culture medium that improves cell growth, cell productivity, and/or product quality. In this role, the individual will perform innovative cell culture experiments, high-throughput model development, small-scale bioreactor development, and literature searches. The ability to design experiments, statistically interpret results, and communicate findings is required.

We are looking for an engineer that will work independently to develop new areas of research in the area of cell culture and medium development.

- Execute and develop cell culture studies using aseptic technique in shaker flasks, automated single-use bioreactors, and bench scale bioreactors (50 mL to 2 L scale)
- Generate, manage, analyze, and maintain critical data in a highly organized manner
- Coordinate and interface with colleagues from other groups involved in the research process, including cell line development, bioreactor scale-up, purification, and manufacturing
- The position requires work on weekends and occasional travel to Regeneron manufacturing facilities

Daily tasks will include (but are not limited to):
- Cell cultivation in shaker flasks and bioreactors
- Benchtop bioreactor operation and maintenance
- Medium and reagent preparation
- Laboratory organization and cleaning
Minimum Requirements:

• BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or Bio-related Engineering with 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting

• GPA 3.0 or higher (please be sure to include GPA on your resume!)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and record keeping abilities to accurately record, analyze, and document development data generated

• Candidates with internships in related fields are strongly encouraged to apply

Additional Skills (preferred, but not required):

• Experience with mammalian cell culture

• Experience with developing fed-batch and perfusion bioreactor processes including optimizing nutrient strategies and evaluating different cell culture media and feed formulations

• Experience with statistical design and analysis software (i.e. JMP)

This is an opportunity to join our select team that is already leading the way in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry. Apply today and learn more about Regeneron's unwavering commitment to combining good science & good business.
