Job Summary:

Manage and measure the execution of the Daiichi Sankyo Inc. Distribution Strategy and achieve corresponding support/service objectives for assigned wholesale, retail, mail order and specialty pharmacy customers. The Associate Director, Trade/Customer Management will also be responsible for developing and leveraging innovative industry-leading customer service capabilities through a matrix account team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute account-based product distribution and inventory management plans aligned to current and future brand strategy, including gross/net financial goals.
  • Act as account lead and manage relationship for assigned wholesale retail, mail order, and specialty pharmacy customers, including collaboration with home office teams (e.g. Supply Chain, Finance, Managed Markets, Marketing, Sales Operations, Market Planning and Legal). Develop a functional business-to-business relationship to assist in driving sales. Actively participate in cross-functional efforts to address broad-based customer service needs and ensure implementation of solutions.
  • Secure customer agreements that will maximize the lifetime value of each prescription generated through:
  • Inventory Management
  • Retail Compliance & Persistency Solutions
  • Patient Services (eg. Patient Education, Pharmacy Services, Adherence Programs, Reimbursement etc.) Co-pay assistance programming
  • Transaction Based Data Analytics and Evidence Generation
  • Other product distribution models
  • Work directly with key customers to identify new ways of collaborating, optimizing cost, and creating value. Develop targeted solutions from an operational perspective, including but not limited to:
  • Creating distribution efficiencies (e.g. 3PL (third party logistics) and other transportation service providers)
  • Developing alternative distribution methods (e.g. Specialty Pharmacy/Distribution, direct distribution)

Travel requirements of at least 6-8 days per month and occasional weekend commitments.

Qualifications
Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education/Experience:
  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; MBA preferred
  • 7-10 years of demonstrated experience and proven success in healthcare or biotech/pharmaceutical industries having worked in Trade Relations, Category Management, Managed Care, Marketing, National Accounts or similar environments
  • Understanding of Retail, Wholesale, Specialty Pharmacy and Specialty Distribution
  • Pain & Oncology Franchise experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years Home Office/Corporate headquarters experience preferred
  • Preferred pharmaceutical sales/marketing experience
  • Analytical and strategic planning abilities
  • Project management skills
  • Expert knowledge of assigned accounts and the competitive landscape
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships within assigned accounts
  • Contract management & negotiating
  • Cross-functional relationships with Supply Chain Operations, Finance, Legal, Sales, Marketing and Managed Markets departments
  • Group presentation, communication and selling skills
  • Action-oriented with a consistent track record of goal achievement
  • Teamwork, networking and leadership qualities
  • Ability to communicate effectively - written and oral
