Amgen is searching for a Sr. Project Manager in a global-role based position, reporting to the Director within the Center for Process Improvement in the Innovation, Planning & Platform Services organization. This Project Manager can be based in our ATO, ASF, Uxbridge, or Cambridge UK offices.

The Sr. Project Manager will help drive continuous improvement and innovation projects that deliver measurable efficiencies and optimized business processes critical to Amgen's future, and will work to establish and sustain the Clinical Trials Global Networks framework.

Key responsibilities include:

Project management for the implementation of innovative business process improvement projects that deliver measurable gains in cost, quality and cycle time

Delivery of AFP projects and commitments

Manage process change initiatives evaluating and manage the impact of process changes to functions, systems and other related processes both upstream and downstream

Support for embedding and sustaining of the Clinical Trials Global Networks within R&D.

Assess alignment with other project improvement or change initiatives and deliver information back to the department if conflicts are noted

Build and maintain strong relationships with Development leaders to understand business objectives and priorities

Ensure projects are on time and on budget

Lead change management and communication efforts

Schedule and facilitate team meetings (includes setting agendas, writing meeting minutes and tracking action items to ensure completion)

Develop communication plans, stakeholder analyses, implementation plans and training plans

Work with Process Owners to develop oversight criteria and action plans

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of project management experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of project management experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of project management experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of project management experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

BA/BS/BSc in the sciences or RN

Project Management Professional (PMP / PMI) certification

9+ years work experience in life science or medically related field

6+ years experience working in clinical site management (working on clinical trials at a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company)

Strong knowledge of the Functional Service Provider Operational Model

Experience with process-centric business process management

Attention to quality planning and execution

Experience in a project management role, including use of project planning tools

Experience in internal communications and change management

Proficient project management skills

Effective leadership skills

Strong change management skills and experience

Ability to manage team(s) to accomplish increasingly complex, specific projects

Ability to influence and motivate others outside of direct line of authority

Strong ability to interface effectively with all levels

Effective meeting management

Quick learner; proactive; takes initiative

Skilled in understanding highly ambiguous situations

Results oriented and goal driven

Strong oral and written communications skills

Ability to organize, interpret, communicate and present information effectively

Proficient facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Strong problem solving skills
