Summary
We are seeking a Process Development Associate II for a full-time position to work in the Purification Development group within Pre-Clinical Manufacturing and Process Development. The qualified individual will be responsible for system reliability and developer advocacy for various data systems, and support of purification process development. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, efficient, flexible, and able to perform key responsibilities in a fast-paced, team environment.

Responsibilities
The position will involve:

• System administration of operational technology data systems, e.g. development of workflows and configuration of technologies that handle process data

• Assessment, development, and implementation of DevOps tools, predictive models, and business processes to improve data system reliability, ability to troubleshoot data systems, or reduce time spent on system configurations and upgrades

• Provide technical support to developers and users of data systems

• Contribute to written documentation, articles, and tutorials; present work at group and department meetings; promote the use of data systems and associated tools within the department

• Advocate for the needs of developers and users within Purification Development and share feedback received from developers and users with data system administration teams

• Lab support of pilot scale productions of protein purification processes

• Perform automated high throughput screening experiments to expedite the workflow of developing a protein purification process
Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree in either Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biochemistry, and 0 - 5 years experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. Additional requirements include:

• A strong fundamental understanding of various database systems, and site reliability engineering practices.

• Relevant lab experience with:
Akta Explorer/Avant, Akta Pilot, Depth Filtration, Tangential Flow Filters, Normal Flow Filters, Chromatographic Columns, HPLC, UPLC, Diafiltration Skid, or Hamilton or Tecan liquid handling systems.

• Relevant data system experience with:
Laboratory information management systems (LIMS), relational database systems (SQL RDBMS), time series database systems or process historians (e.g. OSIsoft PI), or electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) systems.

• Must show proficiency in computer programming. Familiarity in a high-level language, such as Python, R, Scala, or Java preferred.

• Must have strong initiative and drive to complete challenging tasks and learn new technologies.

• Must be capable of multi-tasking, working both independently and within a team environment.

• Familiarity with automated regression testing, integration testing, infrastructure as code, containerization, version control, continuous integration and continuous delivery, monitoring, logging, or distributed tracing preferred, but not required.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methods a plus.
