Job Details
Reporting To: Director, Research & RNAi Lead Development
Position Objective
The successful candidate will join our research team as a critical team member to be involved in drug discovery research, and to execute in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate new drug targets, novel drug candidates and treatment modalities.
Major Job Functions
- Execute, interpret and report in vitro studies using established methodologies
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to execute all aspects of biomarker and translational research relevant to research program
- Introduce new technologies, develop new biological and drug-screen assays and models
- Design and qualify methods and protocols to identify and validate fit-for-purpose biomarkers relevant to target MOAs and/or signaling transduction pathways
- Validate new target concepts
- Conduct in vitro assays including RNA extraction & qRT-PCR, ELISA, Western blot, Cytokine, Flow cytometry, Cloning and others
- Maintain accurate and timely study records
- Deliver/present research progress to cross-functional project teams
Education, Licensure and/or Experience
- PhD with 2-4 yrs or Masters with 10-15 yrs industry and/or academia experience in cancer biology, cell and molecular biology or related drug discovery setting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of computer software and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Graphpad Prism)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with nucleic acid based drugs is a plus
- Experience with animal modeling is a plus
Physical Job Requirements:
Office/Lab environment. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear. They are required to stand, walk or sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
