As a Business Strategy Analyst, you will lead and perform complex analysis of business initiatives that fosters insight, creativity and the opportunity to influence business direction and improvement. You will develop, deliver and oversee initiatives that have a profound impact on the Company's efforts to forecast and commercialize its portfolio of therapeutic drugs.

You will also be involved in the planning, designing and the implementation of pilot programs that require strong analytical abilities. You will reside within the Commercial Division, specifically reporting to the Associate Director, Strategy & Analytics. You will be a vital contributor in the improvement of company-wide strategic service offerings, including evaluation of new business opportunities.

Who is Omeros?

Omeros is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering, developing and commercializing small-molecule and protein therapeutics for large-market as well as orphan indications targeting inflammation, complement-mediated diseases and disorders of the central nervous system.

The company's drug product OMIDRIA® (phenylephrine and ketorolac intraocular solution) 1% / 0.3% is marketed in the U.S. for use during cataract surgery or intraocular lens (IOL) replacement to maintain pupil size by preventing intraoperative miosis (pupil constriction) and to reduce postoperative ocular pain. In the European Union, the European Commission has approved OMIDRIA for use in cataract surgery and other IOL replacement procedures to maintain mydriasis (pupil dilation), prevent miosis (pupil constriction), and to reduce postoperative eye pain.

Omeros has multiple Phase 3 and Phase 2 clinical-stage development programs focused on: complement-associated thrombotic microangiopathies; complement-mediated glomerulonephropathies; Huntington's disease and cognitive impairment; and addictive and compulsive disorders. In addition, Omeros has a diverse group of preclinical programs and a proprietary G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) platform through which it controls 54 new GPCR drug targets and corresponding compounds, a number of which are in preclinical development. The company also exclusively possesses a novel antibody-generating platform.

What are your job responsibilities?

Your responsibilities in this position will include:

  • Supporting the identification and implementation of strategic initiatives and explorations across the Commercial group's functional areas: sales and marketing support, business development and market access/reimbursement strategy support
  • Collaborating with cross-company partners (Finance, Sales, CMC)
  • Analyzing patient services data to answer business questions related to HCP and Patient interactions, including reimbursement benefit investigation and copay analytics; analyzing and adding new insights in looking at hub services and operations
  • Ability to manage large data sets from primary market research and secondary sources to mine additional insights with comprehensive skill in Excel or SPSS
  • Preparing variance analysis, financial assessments and trend analysis
  • Creating clear and concise reports for the Commercial team, utilizing storytelling techniques and a deep comfort with marketing and sales concepts
  • Responding to ad hoc requests for key commercial and business insights
  • Ensuring that appropriate analytical techniques and data sources are fully leveraged for incoming analytics requests
  • Evaluating, recommending and communicating appropriate models/techniques and industry knowledge to enable other team members to answer business questions
  • Supporting infrastructure and process improvements
  • Can identify trade-offs in previous work plans with Senior Leadership to accommodate new projects
  • You will need a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematic, or another analytical field and 4+ years in quantitative analytical or forecasting experience
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills are a must
  • A deep understanding of the types of analyses and insights that can be drawn from using data and the ability to act as an advisor, speaking effectively to senior leaders about the meaning of analysis done
  • Complete understanding of data quality, validation and compliance processes ensuring accuracy in metrics and communicating discrepancies clearly, prior to being presented to stakeholders
  • Knowledge of coding techniques in SAS (or R or Python), SQL and VBA, and advanced Excel skills; comfort with reporting production and automation techniques
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, QlikView, MicroStrategy, or similar
  • Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with management, peers and subordinates
  • An extraordinary work ethic and drive for success including the desire to take personal responsibility
  • Ability to utilize your analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You may travel up to 5%
