Summary
We are looking for a Project Manager. Using scientific expertise, program management knowledge and experience in genetic analysis and operations, the PM will manage Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC) therapeutic area genetics teams and genetics projects within the RGC and communicate project expectations, milestones and timelines. The PM will manage internal and external cross-functional teams and build effective relationships to drive new genetic discoveries.
Responsibilities
• Teams: Build and manage cross-functional teams between RGC therapeutic area genetics teams and Regeneron's therapeutic focus area scientists to drive genetic projects from initiation to completion.
• Planning and Tracking: Develop project plans, track & manage project portfolios, coordinate and align cross-functional teams.
• Collaborations: Manage project interactions and deliverables between the RGC and external collaborators, including the coordination and delivery of genomic data to external collaborators. Collaboratively establish result sharing plans, status reports, project summaries and presentations for Joint Team meetings.
• Communication: Provide effective, accurate and timely project updates and key communications to the RGC, external collaborators, Regeneron scientists and Senior Management.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for standardization of processes and best practices with recommendations for implementation.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify issues and provide general guidance on resolving RGC project / program challenges by developing solutions to meet productivity and quality goals and objectives.
• Nature and Scope
• Works independently with general / limited guidance from a supervisor or team leader.
• Works cross-functionally in a matrix organization and supports the high-level research operation plans.
• Regularly interacts with Sr. Management and/or executive level personnel on matters concerning several functional areas; Exercises good judgment and exerts influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the project / program.
• Represents the department in relevant internal / external committees.

This position requires a minimum of a BS / MS with a minimum of 5 years of relevant progressive project / program management experience OR work experience in the drug development / pharmaceutical industry. Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MS plus MBA) preferred. Additional requirements:
• Experience and a track record in program management, with in-depth knowledge of genetics project operations; knowledge of next-generation sequencing, genome annotation and genetic analysis pipelines.
• Core competencies: Requires excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels both within and outside the company to establish credibility with professionals on the project teams. Understands and listens to team members and fosters a productive team environment. Encourages constructive interactions among team members to address difficult situations. Resolves and negotiates conflicts or problems with tact, diplomacy and composure. Handles multiple projects and priorities with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in advanced techniques with relevant software: MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. in addition to experience working within shared work environments.
