Research Associate (Downstream Process Development)

Ascent Life Sciences is hiring a Research Associate immediately in the Greater Cambridge area. As the Research Associate you will support the downstream process development initiatives to purification methods used in AAV Vector production. As the Research Associate you will carry out chromatography experiments.
Responsibilities:

• Execute basic AAV purification methods including column chromatography, normal flow filtration and tangential flow filtration
• Prepare, analyze and present technical data in a small group setting
• Document data in laboratory notebook and development reports

Qualifications

• MS/BS in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related scientific discipline with 1-3 years industry experience
• Experience in biologics purification research and/or development
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong collaboration, team-working skills and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with good problem-solving ability
• Experience with AKTA FPLCs and Unicorn desired
• Experience with AAV gene therapy desired
