Target Gene Delivery Intern, Summer 2019

This person will work in Target Gene Delivery in Tarrytown, NY. As part of Regeneron's Target Discovery program, the Target Gene Delivery Group performs target gene delivery into mice for different Therapeutic Focus Areas. This student will be involved in confirming that target genes cloned by our group express the desired secreted protein products in vitro. The student will then verify the efficacy of target gene delivery of treated mice by measuring target protein expression in sera and liver lysates. They will learn and apply sterile techniques for tissue culture, Cho-K1 cell transfection, SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, Protein Concentration determination, etc. The student will also get to learn molecular biology techniques and participate in cloning of target genes.

• Must be an undergraduate student

• Must be pursuing a degree in a Biology related field

• Must have previous laboratory experience in cell biology with cell culture experience and a basic understanding of Biology

• Must have a willingness to learn

General Intern Program Information:

• Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or PharmD

• Summer Program is full-time (~40 hrs/wk) for at least 10 weeks and is paid

• Prefer demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities, clubs, sports or the community

• Minimum GPA of 3.0

• You will work with a specific manager on a project(s)

• Enjoy weekly 1 hour Intern Program events: learn about other areas of the company from VPs and other employees, soft skills workshops, networking, volunteering, and more!

• Present to your team on your summer project
