Summary:
Using scientific knowledge and project management techniques, the Research Program Management (RPM) team is seeking the right candidate to support the operational and scientific activities within the R&D Oncology and ImmunoOncology teams. The Project Associate role provides scientific expertise and interpersonal skills required to advance a project / program through key milestones and objectives, providing effective operational guidance to cross functional research and technology project / program teams.
Responsibilities:
• Research Project Management: Provides overall support to a functional area / department, working group or project team which may include the creation of templates, working and best practices, meeting logistics / management and developing tracking, training and monitoring tools.
• Communication: Ensures effective, accurate and timely communication within a department, working group or project team. Develops good working relationships with department leaders, line managers and individual stakeholders, both within and outside the department.
• Collaborations: Supports and coordinate tracking, information sharing and communications within Regeneron and between Regeneron and collaborators.
• Project Planning and Tracking: Uses project management techniques to identify, develop and maintain planning tools for assigned projects including coordination of tasks across functional areas, working groups or project teams.
• Data Management: Supports the development, implementation and administration of tracking tools, workflows and processes to support a department and/or project. Updates information into shared databases (e.g SharePoint); maintains and updates best practices.
• Process Improvement: Assists with defining and documenting working / best practices for a function or project team.
• Problem Solving: Identifies opportunities and develops tools and mechanisms for monitoring progress and routine problem solving within a functional area, working group or project team.
Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of a BS / MS / PhD and 2-3 years of research or project management experience in a scientific discipline or the drug discovery / development industry. Advanced degree (e.g. PhD) and/or experience with Program Management is a plus. Additional requirements include:
• The successful candidate demonstrates excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, is action oriented, organized and has basic knowledge of project management techniques and concepts as they apply to the life sciences.
• Is able to use previous hands-on experience and technical knowledge in areas including molecular biology, protein biochemistry or purification, cell biology, immunology (or related research areas) to effectively support cross-functional project teams.
• Is a quick learner and able to analyze scientific literature and data
• Handles multiple projects and priorities with excellent time management skills (both project and self).
• Is able to interact with team members and stakeholders with tact and diplomacy, with the ability to lead.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft office suite. General knowledge with shared work environments and scientific programs and databases (eg. pubmed, uniprot, Macvector, BLAST etc) is a plus.
