Summary:

Lead Precision Medicine analytical initiatives to inform clinical studies through computational and novel scientific/technological strategies. Support biomarker and diagnostic studies for clinical programs by overseeing and performing exploratory data analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, EHR and other data. Development of scientific software for querying, visualizing, analyzing and interpreting data in partnership with internal collaborators to advance the computational capabilities and efficiency of Precision Medicine. Cross-functionally lead projects with many internal stakeholders (biostatisticians, bioinformaticians, epidemiologists, clinical and research scientists) and external collaborators for the quantitative needs of Precision Medicine. Work collaboratively with scientists and vendors to assure that exploratory statistical and bioinformatics analyses of biomarker data are performed correctly. Keep abreast of the scientific literature, new technologies and industry trends related to precision medicine, genomics and bioinformatics to identify novel analytical strategies to advance Precision Medicine initiatives in drug development.

Job Duties:

• Liase with pharmacometrics, bioinformatics and biostatistics to develop specific methodology to analyze data of all types, including but not limited to, transcriptome, biomarker and exploratory endpoints (including data collected from ambulatory devices).

• Integrate complex datasets to perform bioinformatics and statistical analysis on exploratory biomarker data and endpoints, providing support across a range of Precision Medicine and biomarker studies (including transcriptome, proteins and other biomarkers collected from clinical programs).

• Collaborate with biostatisticians, epidemiologists, molecular profiling, pharmacometrics and clinical scientists to consult on biomarker data analysis, as well as to communicate results and findings to key internal stakeholders and external collaborators.

• Collaborate with molecular profiling and other groups in the design and interpretation of various biomarker studies, genetics, gene expression, methylation analyses, and eQTL analyses initiated or conducted by Precision Medicine.

• Contribute to the design and interpretation of biomarker studies within Precision Medicine and in collaboration with other departments including research, clinical development and regulatory affairs.

• Manage relationships with external collaborators and vendors to ensure the quality and standardization of biomarker data analysis.

• Assist in the preparation of scientific presentations, manuscripts and reports, including the preparation of tables and graphs depicting biomarker research results

• Collaborate with lead project scientists to perform, coordinate, and oversee the preparation, execution, reporting, and documentation of exploratory analysis projects.

• Guide and/or create user tools for easy access of internal results by scientists.

• Interface with clinical teams, scientists, statisticians, global project teams and external key opinion leaders.

• Provide analysis of exploratory and biomarker-based endpoint measurements in clinical studies, including natural history studies on human subjects.

• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g. RGC, MP, Clinical Operation Sciences) and external centers to explore novel informatics strategies to inform drug development.

Requirements:

• Ph.D preferred, but M.S acceptable with a degree in Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, Human Genetics, Statistical Genetics, Biostatistics, Statistics, or Computer Science

• Candidate must possess theoretical understanding of translational quantitation. The candidate should have sound knowledge of statistical methodology and the ability to critique devised hypotheses and results interpretation.

• Proven ability to perform high level translational quantitation R (R preferred) and python preferred, other programming languages a plus. Familiarity with creating a Shinies and SAS a plus.

• Familiarity with non-parametric methods, knowledge of Bayesian analytic approaches a plus

• Should be comfortable in a Linux environment.

• Background in genetics or biology preferred.

• Must be able to independently manage a project from start to finish. Demonstrate ability to effectively organize and manage multiple high priority deliverables.

• Must be self-directed with the ability to work and operate independently.

• High degree of creativity, agility, flexibility and attention to detail required.

• Must be able to collaborate on cross-functional, matrixed teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

• Industry experience preferred.
