Job Details
Summary: Supports the Process Sciences Department through small-scale laboratory experiments and raw material studies related to production processes for biopharmaceuticals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Performs technical investigations and creates associated reports.
• Develops and executes cell culture studies using aseptic technique in shake flasks and bench-scale bioreactors
• Ensures that experiments are planned and coordinated cross-functionally, as well as executed effectively
• Uses statistical tools such as multivariate data analysis to analyze process performance and product quality data.
• Provides scientific insight to assist in understanding raw material impact on upstream cell culture processes.
• Develops and writes protocols for small-scale studies.
• Tabulates results and writes summary reports of process/raw material evaluation.
• Presents results at group and possibly at interdepartmental meetings.
• Maintains lab supplies and equipment.
• Produces and maintains accurate records.

Education and Experience:
• Requires PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering or a related field with 0-2 years of relevant scientific industry experience; may consider another discipline with added relevant experience.
• Previous experience with cGMP and CHO cell culture are highly desirable
• Experience in a supervisory role is preferred
