Role / Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented research scientist to join our Translational Research group in our new state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Kendall Square. This position will provide an opportunity to develop new approaches and technologies to interrogate biomarker of resistance to immunotherapy in liquid milieus. The qualified candidate is a motivated, interactive, and creative individual who possesses the ability to work across a matrixed environment to advance translational research. This is a laboratory-based position, which will primarily focus on new technology development, but will also include routine lab work, including sample processing, data acquisition, and analysis. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a strong background in new technology development with a demonstrated track record of success in employing new approaches to address biologically complex problems. Prior experience in developing sequencing approaches and technology for cfDNA, single cell, FFPE, and TCR is a requirement. A background in biomarker research, working with clinical samples, and oncology drug development is a plus. Qualifications / Essential Skills
BS with 5-7 years or MS with 3-5 years of post-graduate experience in an academic or industrial setting
Prior experience in new technology development, implementation, and trouble-shooting
Experience isolating DNA from plasma, circulating tumor cells, and sorted cells
Strong background in sequencing from single cell, circulating tumor cells, sorted populations, and FFPE material
Familiarity with laboratory inventory management system
Prior experience working with cell lines and primary human tissue samples; experience working with blood and blood products is plus
Prior biomarker experience, working with clinical samples, and oncology drug development is a plus
Academic background in molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology, genetics, and/or immunology is required
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, written and orally, within the team and larger organization
