Roles and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Research Scientist, who has experience in studying immune oncology and immune checkpoint biology and working knowledge of mechanisms of resistance. The qualified candidate has extensive experience working with clinical specimens in terms of pre-sampling strategies for the isolation of DNA/RNA/Protein from a variety of sample types, frozen/FFPE/fresh tissue and PBMCs/plasma/serum etc. The qualified candidate will be able to evaluate, optimize and develop new assays across multiple platforms from genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics to liaise with our emerging technology translational medicine teams in support of translational research activities. It is also expected that the ideal candidate would contribute scientifically to be objective and rationale for the experimental models and processes that are being utilized and has working knowledge of the patient-level associations that are being evaluated.
Qualifications / Essential Skills
MS with 7-8 years experience in cancer biology, cell and / or molecular biology or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a biotech/pharma setting.
1-2 years hands on experience with guiding/managing day-to-day activities of assistant/associate researchers within the lab
Ideally candidate will have developed lab techniques that address the mechanisms of therapeutic response and resistance utilizing in vitro , in vivo (and potentially ex vivo ) models
Deep and broad knowledge of molecular and cellular techniques including DNA/RNA/protein isolations from clinical specimens, generation of short-term cultures and organoids, secretion profiling, qPCR and other gene expression techniques, including exposure to WES/WTS methodology.
A keen ability to learn and adopt new techniques and implement new protocols highly desired.
Also experience in tumor/tissue banking processes and protocols would be beneficial
Prior experience as part of a multidisciplinary team in an academic or industry setting
Excellent written and oral presentation skills and flexibility and proactive approach to taking on a multi-functional role within a large cross-function team.
