Job Details
Within a specific therapeutic area (Lung fibrosis, including idiopathic pulmonary disease and other interstitial lung disease):
Lead the development, planning, and execution of the Global Medical Plan, aligned to disease, biomarker, and asset strategies,
Participate as a member of the Development Team, providing input into the development strategy for diseases and assets,
Partner with WW Commercial to integrate a medical perspective into the commercialization process,
Establish and maintain interactions with external medical and scientific experts, clinical researchers, and academic centers to assess unmet medical needs, engage in scientific exchange, and gather expert insights - determining strategic implications, and translating them into action,
Maintain working knowledge of the relevant treatment and biomarker landscape,
Develop scientific communication platforms for diseases, assets, and biomarkers, aligned with Medical Strategy, and in collaboration with R&D colleagues
Lead Medical activities including scientific advisory boards, congress scientific coverage, and thought leader interactions,
Transform disease, biomarker, and asset data into medical knowledge for both internal and external stakeholders. Work with other Medical functions to develop and execute robust publication strategies and scientific content, ensuring alignment with Medical Strategy,
Build, forecast and track/adjust the Medical budget and resources,
Partner to advance research activities including non-registrational data generation and sponsored trials, in partnership with the Clinical Research Organization and country Medical
Position Requirements
Minimum 5-10 years of clinical or industry experience,
Ability to travel, up to 30%.
Ideal Candidates Would Also Have
Relevant industry experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development, including experience working with thought leaders,
Experience in pulmonology and/or lung fibrosis (including idiopathic pulmonary disease and other interstitial lung disease)
Experience leading a cross-functional team including market-based medical colleagues and clinical, marketing, access, and health outcomes teams.
Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work well in a team and collaborate in a complex matrix environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to evaluate scientific data and literature and extrapolate to clinical development, medical, and commercial programs
Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient. The ability to organize multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Ability to simply communicate complex data to internal and external stakeholders
Other Qualifications
Advanced science degree (e.g. MD, PharmD, PhD)
