Job Details
The IS Architect will report to the DWX Operations Lead, based out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.
Information Systems (IS), Digital Workplace Experience (DWX) team that is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and life cycle of Amgen's device and software management technologies. The team consists of cross-disciplinary IS professionals who understand how to deliver services that span both infrastructure and applications.
Key Activities for Specialist IS Architect include:
- Accountable for the delivery of desktop management best practices, developing and delivering agile methodologies for windows desktop and device management, Mac provisioning, overall software distribution and support
- Interact with end users from all aspects of Amgen's business to ensure that business use cases are well understood and documented responsible for technology roadmap and planning for core infrastructure services from Microsoft, VMWare, Amazon, 1E, Avecto, Flexera, and others
- Support technology roadmap development and planning for core infrastructure services from Microsoft, VMWare, Amazon, 1E, Avecto, Flexera, and others
- Provide architecture and engineering expertise for Microsoft SCCM, Airwatch, Desktop GPOs, and Electronic Software Delivery
- Optimize disparate processes among Desktop Management, Mobile Management, and Virtual Desktops to streamline a single Unified Endpoint Management Program
- Develop Amgen's business use cases for desktop software, packaging, and delivery
- Maintain and develop EUT Lab for such standards and emerging software, working closely with hardware and device architects to deliver EUT systems
- Provide ongoing transformation of desktop imaging, Mac support, into agile device rationalized enterprise service
- Interact with manufactures and vendors to understand device and service offerings, and product limitations
- Develop vendor relationships, leveraging beta and user feedback forums where available
- Provide quantitative feedback and testing on new desktop management opportunities in the market place
- Travel: International and Domestic travel up to 20% may be essential
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Understand business use cases for devices, applications, services, desktop software, packaging, and delivery
- Experience with Desktop and Unified Endpoint Management Tools, such as SCCM, AirWatch, VMWare Horizon
- Experience developing roadmaps, and technology initiatives
- Experience leading small to mid-sized projects
- Experience in enterprises with more than 50,000 devices
