The Sr Associate IS Programmer Analyst- Search & NLP will be part of Amgen's Analytics and Knowledge Management (AKM) team, and will be based at Amgen's Tampa, Florida site. The Senior Associate will be responsible for implementing search solutions in support of Amgen's search strategy.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Design, develop, and maintain crawlers and document processing/enrichment pipelines that create search indexes using data from structured and unstructured data sources
  • Push the envelope on current NLP technology and develop new algorithms for our Enterprise Search & NLP platform
  • Deep learning programming experience with Python/Tensorflow/Keras or similar libraries and frameworks
  • Design, develop, and provide implementation of compelling data visualizations, dashboards, tools, and utilities using Open Source technologies (Java/J2EE, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, D3, etc.) in support of search-based applications
  • Collaborate with business partners and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Assist with estimating level of effort and hours required for each phase of a project
  • Code and perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirements
  • Experience with ISM Change management and CI process
  • Work with CCMS Trackwise change control process for GxP systems
  • Experience with GxP computer system validation
  • Experience with Solr development and deployment
  • Manage AWS co-ordination with multiple teams
  • Setup multiple environment for Dev, Test and Prod
  • Experience with functional testing and validation process
  • Write technical documentation
  • Continually improve/enhance search quality (relevance)
  • Ensure projects and deliverables are completed on time and within budget
  • Provide Run/DevOps support for search platforms and applications
  • Research and evaluate technical solutions including various open source and proprietary search platforms, NoSQL databases, graph databases, and web based search user interface tools
  • Prepare and maintain communication materials like roadmaps, position papers, presentations, demos and socialize the materials with our business clients and partner IS services
  • Deliver results in an environment consisting of diverse global and matrixed partners; including non-dedicated resources
  • Effectively manage relationships with internal business partners, service partners, and vendors


Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of IS experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of IS experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of IS experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience working on search platforms and web-application development
  • Experience with Solr or Elasticsearch. Experience designing and developing large-scale Search Engine components. Solr Integration with web based front ends
  • Proficient in data analysis, model building and data mining
  • Solid foundation in natural language processing and machine learning
  • Experience with using cloud-based APIs services like Watson Developer Cloud or Amazon AI
  • Experience in AWS services such as EC2, EBS, ELB, Lambda, Kinesis, ECS, and ECR
  • Experience in managing GxP system validation and change management
  • End to end Change Management leadership and maintain accuracy of Configuration Items
  • Familiar with authoring systems documentation such as Requirement Specifications, Design Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, Requirement Traceability Matrix, Installation Qualification and Operational Qualification
  • Experience in leading testing workstream from Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Functionality Testing and User Acceptance Testing
  • Led at least 3 GxP validated system deployment
  • Java/JEE Development experience. Certification preferred
  • Experience with scripting languages (JavaScript/D3/Python)
  • Experience with Morphlines
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (Hbase/MongoDB)
  • Experience with GitHub, CVS, SVN (source code control systems)
  • Experience with Hadoop and Map Reduce concepts
  • Working knowledge of Relational Databases
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills for effective problem solving
