Job Summary

Amgen is seeking a Sr. Manager Finance to be a part of the Operations Business Analysis (BA) Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Team.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Manage team of 3-4 individuals in supporting all BA related activities
  • Provide operational thought leadership and fiscal accountability to the Global Operational Leads (GOL) and Therapeutic Area (TA) heads
  • Complete/ review key operations related analysis for Portfolio Governance (PG) and PG Core
  • Liaise with key members of Operations, R&D Finance, and Commercialization teams for PG related analysis
  • Serve as key financial support to Operations Strategic Product Review (OSPR) for all instrumental ad hoc and decision-making analysis
  • Member of Deal Review Committee and provide relevant analyses for potential M&A and licensing Ventures (Business Development Support)


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Accounting, Finance, or Economics

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of Accounting, Finance, or Economics

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Accounting, Finance, or Economics

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Accounting, Finance, or Economics

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Accounting, Finance, or Economics

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA and/or CPA 6+ years of progressive finance / accounting experience including corporate level public company experience. Relevant functional financial planning experience in other operational areas.
  • Detail oriented; strong business analytical skills.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence personnel across functions and levels. Thrives in ambiguous situations and team environment.Ability to think strategically.
  • Pharmaceutical/ Biotech experience.
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand and apply various principles and possesses a deep knowledge of problem solving skills, prioritizes tasks, able to solve a wide range of challenges, raise business issues as appropriate.
  • This role will require extensive finance experience (within Operations and other areas) and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and ability communicate to peers, clients and top management in a clear and concise manner.
