SENIOR MANGER, DEMAND PLANNING
Summit, NJ

The Demand Planning Manager/Sr. Manager will partner with Marketing, Operations and Finance to develop an accurate demand unit forecast for In-line products, new late-stage development products, new product launch including channel stocking, clinical demand for Biologics and small molecules. Additionally, develop an operation 5 and 10 yr. Long Range Plan (LRP) to drive strategic business decisions. This role includes but not limited to, participate in cross functional project teams to develop/sustain best in class Demand and Supply Chain methodologies and is responsible for developing strong collaborative relationships with partners at all levels while maintaining company values to achieve strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Demand Planning Manager/ Sr. Manager will partner with Marketing, Operations and Finance to develop an accurate demand 24-month unit monthly forecast for all SKUs and develop an operation 5 and 10 yr. Long range plan (LRP) to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Data analytics, creating/developing demand models, data visualization
  • Each month review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, develop statistical operational forecast models, and evaluate operational forecast results
  • Reconcile variances and refine the operational forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
  • Communicate demand forecast plans and the assumptions behind them through the sales and operation planning process and franchise leadership meetings
  • Update and monitor key performance indicators and diagnostics to ensure continual forecast improvement efforts and prepare written analyses, documentation, reports or other data of a quality requiring minimal supervisory review
  • Collaborate with Supply Planners to develop inventory strategies for existing items, new products, and product phase-ins and phase-outs, identify and resolve changes in the forecast and their impact on the supply chain.
  • Ensure consistency of forecast assumptions across the disease states, including base business trends, Loss of Exclusivity plans, new launch volumes, base business.
  • Partner with Commercial Finance teams to prepare for company's 3-Year Ops (3YOP), long-range planning (LRP) process (annual strategic plan and ongoing 5 and 10 year), and Annual Budget planning
  • Provide guidance/oversight of SKU level forecasts, to ensure alignment with business direction and consistency with market trends.
  • Requires supporting and assisting with other executive and franchise meetings

Monthly /Quarterly Sales and Operations Planning leader (S&OP): The Demand Planning Role will prepare and coordinate the Sales and Operations Process. Responsibilities include:
  • Establish and/or, revise key metrics in support of Sales and Operations Planning, conduct analysis and preparing the appropriate reports and presentations
  • Coordinate demand inputs for the Demand-Supply alignment meeting, analysis of global demand changes and forecast accuracy
  • Prepare and lead monthly S&OP meeting with Supply Planning Team and Logistics
  • Provide demand input for the Supply Planning and Manufacturing meeting
  • Collaboration with Supply Planning to generate a monthly executive report
  • Coordinate and prepare PowerPoint deck for quarterly Executive S&OP meeting with senior management

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • MBA preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or other quantitative business discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience; minimum of 4 years forecasting experience
  • Understands the importance of relationship development/management
  • Ability to deal with complex and ambiguous situations
  • Demonstrated management and self-initiative skills required
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the operational forecast process
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with a high attention to detail.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office required, intermediate MS Excel required, advanced Excel helpful, proficient in Power BI; experience with a forecast modeling tool preferred, e.g. Demantra, Logility; SAP experience helpful
  • Strong business acumen
  • APICS or IBF (International Business Forecast), Lean Six Sigma certified
