Research Associate/Sr Research Associate - Genomic Toxicology​

 We are currently seeking a highly qualified, highly motivated individual for the position of Research Associate/Sr Research Associate in our Research Toxicology group who shares the passion of our core principles and culture. We are seeking a technically proficient individual with a broad base of skills, to execute nucleic acid (RNA-seq, WGS, exome sequencing) and protein-based assays (e.g. ELISA), develop/perform cell-based toxicology screening assay, and assist in conducting rodent studies.  These studies will inform broad platform behavior across chemical classes, organs and interspecies relationships.  The ideal candidate will be working in the laboratory as an integral part of the Toxicology team and in collaboration across multiple disciplinary areas to help us understand and avoid tolerability issues of antisense oligonucleotides. So, join us and experience our unique culture while developing and expanding your career.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The successful candidate with a background in Molecular/Cell Biology or Genetics, will have B.S. with 5 years of relevant experience or M.S with at least 3 years of relevant scientific lab experience with emphasis on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) work flow and cell culture.
  • Demonstrated experience with next-generation sequencing methods:
    • From experimental design to library preparation for various RNA-seq approaches, WGS, and exome sequencing and familiarity sequencing instrumentation (NovaSeq, NextSeq).
    • Experience in single cell genomics would be a plus.
    • Some programming and scripting abilities in languages such as Python to use for genomic data analysis is highly desirable.
  • Solid experience with mammalian cell culture with a focus on primary cell culture with a focus on immunobiology. Some experience with cell separation technologies such as FACS, microscopy (confocal, laser-capture micro dissection) would also be highly desirable.
  • Solid experience with common molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR, protein work (western, ELISA, immunoprecipitations...) with an ability to optimize new techniques independently.
  • Some experience with rodent handling is preferred (dosing through various route of administration, necropsy…).
  • Demonstrated ability to critically interpret experimental results and independently identify next steps.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter who is highly motivated and not afraid to take risks.
  • Ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment.
